✿ Inugami Academy: By all appearances, a perfectly normal high school in what seems like Japan, based on the class structure and names. The halls are clean and white, and on every window, you can see a mural of a cherry blossom tree made up of handprints, proudly painted by a past class. The otherwise flat white light is a hazy pink through the murals and outdoors in the afternoon.

By daylight.

At night, the school goes pitch black, except for the flicker of ghost lights. The paint is peeling off the walls, and blood drips from the red and pink handprints. And an inhuman growl can be heard throughout the halls.

There is a burned forest just outside the school gates. New growth is trying to take root, with flower trees rising out of the ashes. But if you look too closely, the new trees look vaguely like human bodies, twisted in agony. Fortunately, you can't get too close—a spatial distortion exists all around the school, preventing anyone from leaving the grounds. If you try to venture outside the campus, you will find yourself randomly dropped into another part of the school, be it in the swimming pool, the cafeteria, dangling upside down by your feet from the cherry tree in the courtyard. Stare out the gates too long, however, and the distortion will treat you to a vision of your own back, standing at the gate and staring into an endless loop. And then, the vision of yourself will start to turn around toward you...

✿ The Study Hall: It always seems to be closed during school hours, as if the staff realizes that students only ever use it to cut class or cause mischief. Between sunset and midnight, it is a large, comfortable space where students can sit at tables and couches and do their homework—or not. After all, the vending machines are nearby, if anyone ever wants a snack (whatever you want, it's always out if it. Whatever you don't want, they always have plenty of). But the darker the night gets, the more you notice a large bloodstain on the floor near the entrance, seeping through the carpet. What could have happened there? And what sort of business does student council conduct there, as midnight strikes?

✿ The Cafeteria: All meals are free at Inugami Academy, and the staff is always happy to serve you, no matter the time of day. In fact, do they ever sleep? It always seems to be the same lunch ladies, day in and out, singing the same disturbing songs as they serve your meal. Once in a while, you might find a tooth, finger, or eyeball sticking out of your meal—but that's only your imagination, right? There is also a mural painted on the wall over the lunch line, all in various shades of red. If you stand there before the food comes out and the smells of the kitchen overpower it, you will detect the scent of blood coming from the mural, and it seems as though the red was frantically painted over something horrible that threatens to seep through once more.

✿ The Courtyard: Somehow or another, the entire school circles a courtyard that features an enormous cherry tree, much like the one in the paintings, that rains pink petals down on you no matter the weather or season. According to the staff, it is the only part of the school that remains exactly the way it was, before the unfortunate events last year. Students pass through the gardens on their way to the dormitories, built alongside the tree like roots and branches. This garden is beautiful, but it has an obvious mystical aura to it, even to those who would otherwise not be sensitive to it. Hitodama—tiny, white wisps of fire—flit from blossom to blossom like a cross between butterflies and fireflies. They are harmless, although their light is eerie by night. But do not forget that these are souls—if you dare touch one of them, you will be filled with emotions that are not your own and hear the screams of the dead. Take care, lest these lost souls decide they need a new vessel.

✿ The Dormitories: Old Inugami Academy was a nonresidential school, with a dormitory available only for transfer students. But there are no transfers anymore, after all, and the transition to a boarding school means that the dormitories have been built for all students. However, in the hurry to open the school, it seems that normal beds or futons were forgotten. Fortunately, each dorm has its own solution.
✿ Kitsune Dorm: Students who have chosen the Kitsune will be housed in a den at the foot of the cherry tree. It is poorly lit, and the shadows are distorted, creating the illusions of anywhere from one to nine fox tails on any Kitsune student's shadow...or is it an illusion at all? Students sleep in beds of cool, autumn leaves.
✿ Nue Dorm: Located beside the branches of the cherry tree is Nue Dorm, which appears to have been built into a natural cave system, featuring an indoor waterfall. Beautiful as it is, the waterfall creates its own strange weather patterns, causing storm clouds to form within and thunder to sound inside the halls, unless, of course, that's simply the echo of the waterfall. Nue students curl up in warm beds of what look like animal pelts.
✿ Tanuki Dorm: Like Kitsune Dorm, Tanuki is found in a den at the foot of the tree, from which bamboo has sprouted, creating a maze that can easily confuse people. Was your room down this corridor, or the last? Dead wood from the burned-out forest lines the floors of the bedrooms, containing a groove that has a living plant growing out of it. The plant's leaves are cool and inviting, perfect for any Tanuki student to sleep peacefully.
✿ Tengu Dorm: Students who reside in Tengu Dorm will find the halls are open-air, exposed to the trees of the growing forest. Strong winds batter these halls, threatening to toss careless students off the walkway to the ground below...although, if you're lucky, sometimes these winds will catch you in just the right way, and you'll feel as though all you need to do is spread your wings in order to fly. But that's silly—you don't have wings, right? Best to be careful walking to and fro. Each bedroom features a nest of twigs and the occasional stray feather for Tengu students to sleep.
✿ Student Council Dorm: Those chosen for student council are the luckiest of all, residing in a treehouse dorm up in the branches of the cherry tree. The branches extend far beyond the eye can see, and looking that far can make students feel dizzy or woozy. There is nothing to lay on at all. As students grow tired, the branches of the tree grow to surround them, holding them upright against the trunk. Their minds go blank as flowers grow around them. They will not remember closing their eyes and falling asleep, but they will feel completely rejuvenated upon waking, especially upon feeling the morning sunlight.
